About

Originally Millgrove School was built on the site of the Miller family farm. Our name is derived both from its original farmstead as well as the windmill that was at the site of Spruce Grove Composite High School. Our school opened its doors in 1977. Millgrove has always maintained—and continues to maintain—a high standard of academic achievement. Our belief as a school staff and community is that “We start from where the children are and grow them from there.”

Unique Features of Our School

Staff and parents of Millgrove are committed to working together for the betterment of our students.

Millgrove staff works hard to offer many program opportunities for children. These include activities that develop the whole child. For example, we teach using robotics which are plug and play, as well as with robotics which require coding. Archery has been added to our Grade 2-4 programming, both within the curriculum and extracurricularly. We continue to review and add to these opportunities yearly.

Millgrove has an active parent volunteer group which contribute to all facets of students lives. These activities range from participating in School Council, to working beside students in class, to facilitating hot lunch as well as sponsoring activities within our school.

How We Define Success for Our Students

It is our belief as a staff and parent community that our students are successful when we see a strong commitment to literacy and numeracy. We see our students demonstrate their ability to be creative problem solvers who are collaborative and who self-advocate. We also firmly believe that a successful student is a happy and healthy student.
