Lunch & Milk Programs

Hot Lunch

Hot lunch will be available every Friday or the day before if there is no school.  Milk will be available every school day. Our hot lunch and milk programs will be ordered on a monthly basis. Our first round of ordering will be September 18-25, 2024 with milk starting October 1, 2024 and hot lunch starting October 4, 2024. We will send out date reminders starting in October. 

Snacks will NOT be provided, we will only be providing the entree.  

BOOSTER JUICE PROGRAM

Booster juice orders will be placed at the same time as hot lunch orders. It will be delivered once a month rotating Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Kindergarten parents please be sure to check your child is in class that day.

Please Note:

  • No late orders will be accepted.
  • Hot lunch only includes the entrée (snacks will not be provided).
  • Hot lunch will be available every Friday or the day before if there is no school on Friday. If there is a class event (e.g. a field trip) scheduled on a hot lunch day after hot lunches have been ordered, your child's class will receive their lunch the day before.
  • Should your child be away from school, we are unable to provide a refund for an unclaimed hot lunch.
  • Kindergarten parents: Please check your calendar to ensure you only order lunch on days your child is at school.

To place an order:

Everyone needs to create an account (even if you had one last year) http://millgrove.hotlunches.net 

  1. Click on: Click here to register 
  2. School access code: MGHL (capital letters) 
  3. Set up your user ID and password (Same user ID and password can be used for milk and hot lunch)
  4. Follow the online instructions to order. (You do NOT need to have a PayPal account to pay online. You can pay by credit card without creating a PayPal account)

*Please note that your child will not be verified but you will still be able to order.

**Should your child be away on a hot lunch day that you have paid for, we will NOT provide a refund. 

Kindergarten students: please check your calendar to make sure you order lunch only for those days you are at school and check to ensure you select the teacher AND correct days your child attends. 

If there is a class event (e.g. field-trip) scheduled after hot lunches have been ordered, alternate arrangements will be made to ensure the students will still receive the ordered lunch. 

Cash Orders

For cash sales we have a slotted lock box inside the main office in the school.  Please make sure to label the envelope/bag with your child’s name & class so we can put it on the right account.  We will accept cash or cheques (payable to Millgrove School Community Foundation). DO NOT send cash with your child.

Please ensure that your ORDER and PAYMENT are completed by 3:30pm on September 27, 2024 (or whatever the last sale date is) as no late orders can be accepted. 

Volunteers

Volunteers are important to make these programs a success. We will need 2 hot lunch volunteers each Friday. When you order hot lunch for your child, there will be a box to check if you can volunteer. 

If you are able to help with distributing hot lunches from approximately 11:45am-1pm on hot lunch days, please contact the Hot Lunch Coordinator and let her know your availability. We truly appreciate your help. 

Hot Lunch Coordinator

The Hot Lunch Coordinator is responsible for setting lunch days in coordination with administration and the school calendar. The coordinator helps decide on lunch menus and arrange vendors. The coordinator also sets up the hot lunch website, coordinates vendor orders, ensures hot lunch days have appropriate volunteers and answers parent emails.

Milk Program

The milk program at Millgrove School is run by parent volunteers. We offer both white and chocolate milk every school day during lunch, including on hot lunch days, beginning in early October.

Milk coupons will be pre-purchased at $11.00 a page which gets you 10 coupons ($1.10/milk). Milk coupons ordered online will be sent home with your child.  

The coupons are to be sent with your child at lunchtime and they will be able to pick up milk (white or chocolate).

Please note: If your child is absent, we cannot offer refunds on any milk that has been ordered for them.

Online Orders

Milk orders are also placed online but are only accepted three times per school year. Ordering times for the current school year are listed below.

To place an order:

  1. Go to Milk Ticket registration website.
  2. Select "Register" from the menu at the top right-hand corner to sign up. You do need to register every year as your child has changed classrooms.
  3. School access code: MGHL (all caps)
  4. Set up your user id and password (Same user id and password can be used for milk and hot lunch) 
  5. Once registered you are automatically logged into the website.
  6. Add your student(s) by selecting the Student link at the bottom of the page you are on.
  7. Follow the online instructions to order and pay. You can pay by credit card without creating a Paypal account.

Cash Orders

Families paying with cash or cheque can deposit their payment in the slotted lock box located outside the school office. Please make sure to label the envelope/bag containing your payment with your child’s name and class so we can ensure it is credited to the correct account.

We will accept cash or cheques (payable to Millgrove School Community Foundation). DO NOT send cash with your child.

Volunteers

Volunteers are always welcome! Helping with the milk program is an easy way to get involved at the school and meet students, parents and teachers.

Milk Coordinator

The Milk Coordinator orders the milk, takes care of milk coupons and ensures all milk days have appropriate volunteers.
