Pet Parade & Carnival
Last Day of School
Thursday June 29th 2023
We kick off the day with a Pet Parade from 9:15-10:00 am in the field south of the school. Please take care in following a few simple rules of participation:
- pets and adult pet owners can assemble in the east field (tarmac area) along the fence between 8:45-9:05 am
- students go to class as they normally would and join parents and pets after attendance
- NO PETS are allowed in the school
- have pets on a leash, harness, in a cage or in a bowl, especially if they have trouble making friends
- bring your own pooper scooper supplies as the Millgrove carnival will be held in the same area
- all pets must return home after the pet parade at 10:00 am while students return to their classrooms to prepare for the carnival activities
Carnival
The carnival activities will take place between 10:15 am - 12:30 pm
Students will earn points as they participate in carnival activities. Once they earn enough points, they can be redeemed for 1 freezie and 1 bag of popcorn.
Lunch
Our Millgrove School Foundation is providing a FREE HOT DOG! Please supplement with other snacks to get students through the day.
Please be sure to send your child with appropriate clothing, sunscreen, bug spray, hat and most importantly a water bottle.
The year-end assembly will be in the gym at approximately 1:45 pm.
Volunteers make the day a huge success! Please let your classroom teacher know if you'd be available to help with the carnival activities. In addition, we would love help with the following: (please let the office know if you're able to help)
- 6 volunteers to help with the hot lunch assembly
- 2 volunteers to BBQ hot dogs
- 2 volunteers to manage the popcorn table during the carnival
- 2 volunteers to prepare hot dogs for the Kindergarten classrooms the day
- prior, on June 28
- 2-4 volunteers to make popcorn the day before on June 28th
Kinders that come on Monday/Wednesday you are welcome to join the fun on Thursday but of course, you must be accompanied by a parent and would not be a part of your class.
